La parada económica forzada como única forma de frenar la pandemia tendrá consecuencias graves, sobre todo para las empresas y personas más débiles y esto mismo representará una fuerte ralentización para la recuperación.

¿Cómo intuye el contexto posterior a la crisis en la misma óptica?

Recuperación muy lenta y entorpecimiento prudente de los viajes, que todavía harán más lenta la recuperación.

¿Qué papel juega el liderazgo en la realidad actual?

¡Más fundamental que nunca! La gente necesita un liderazgo siempre, pero de forma más perentoria ante una situación de incertidumbre y miedo.

¿Qué es necesario, más que nunca, en las empresas y / o en los líderes empresariales?

Hace falta visión, coraje, prudencia y ética. Y, naturalmente, cuanto más conocimiento (de todo tipo: técnico y empresarial) mejor saldremos.

¿Qué consejo daría hoy a los directivos y ejecutivos de empresa para encarar la etapa post-COVID-19?

No olvidéis nunca que sin clientes no hay empresa, pero sin personas, todavía menos. La empresa no es el propietario ni los socios, son todos sus componentes y hay que cuidarlos.

Como miembro del máximo órgano de gobierno de una institución focalizada en el crecimiento y formación de directivos y directivas, ¿qué mensaje dirigiría a nuestra Comunidad en estos momentos?

El líder puede (y tiene que tener) miedo, nunca pánico. Hace falta empujón y fe, pero, más que nunca, conocimiento. Cabeza fría, bien amueblada y pies.

How do you view the current context of the crisis at company level?

The forced economic shutdown as the only way to slow the pandemic will have serious consequences, especially for companies and people in a weak position. This will be a sharp slowdown for recovery.

What do you think this context will look like post-crisis?

A very slow recovery and a prudent containment of travel which will make recovery even slower.

What is the current role of leadership?

It is more important now than ever before. People always need leadership but in a situation of uncertainty and fear it is imperative.

What is required, especially now, of companies and/or business leaders?

They need to show vision, courage, prudence and ethics. The more knowledge (of all kinds: technical and business) we have, the stronger we will emerge.

What advice would you give company managers and executives for the post-COVID-19 era?

To always remember, that when there are no clients, there is no company, but when there are no people, there is even less. The company is neither the owner nor the shareholders, it is the sum of all of its parts and we must look after them all.

As a member of the Board of Trustees of an institution which focuses on management development and training, what would you say to our Community at this time?

A leader can (and must) have fear but never succumb to panic. Drive and conviction are necessary but knowledge is important, especially now. Keep a cool head, with clear ideas and with your feet firmly on the ground.
